What It Means to be a State Park Volunteer

Volunteers are one of the most important resources of Cowan Lake State Park. A group of individuals committed to the preservation and enhancement of our area resources can make all the difference in the world for our Parks. The volunteers are a vital part of educational and recreational programming, trails, events, and park support.

Volunteering offers many rewards. Our volunteers form a special community that supports both the Park and each other. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing someone’s eyes light up as they connect with the unique beauty of this area. Volunteering gives you the opportunity to improve peoples’ visits to our park and to make a wonderful place even better. We hope you’ll consider volunteering some of your precious time to this special place.

There are a wide variety of ways to volunteer to best suit your personal interests and talents. Volunteers assist with kayak and paddle board programs, wildlife care, archery programs, trail teams, community group service days, and special events among many other possibilities. If you are interested in becoming a part of this exceptional volunteer community, please contact: amanda.wolski@dnr.state.oh.us
